KJ Notary & Loan Signing Services is the work of one person who treats your documents like they matter — because they do. Mobile, licensed, and reachable when you actually need her.
Owner · Notary Public
I’m Katie J. Fridgen — owner-operator of KJ Notary & Loan Signing Services, a Minnesota Notary Public and licensed closing agent based in Clearwater. Over the past 20 years I’ve built my career across business management, construction, project management, and customer service — gaining the kind of experience that makes the details of every document matter to me.
My background includes seven years in residential and commercial new construction and time as a Project Manager for a house-flipping company — work that taught me how to manage complex projects, solve problems quickly, and never let a critical detail slip. In 2022 I became a commissioned notary public, and in January 2026 I earned my Closing Agent License, allowing me to better serve clients through some of their biggest financial milestones.
My family is the reason I started this business. I’m a proud mom of two — including my son, who has special needs. Being his mom has given me patience, resilience, and a deep understanding of what it means to show up for the people who depend on you. Building KJ Notary meant I could keep providing for my family while being there for my kids when they need me most.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me at the softball field. For the past six years I’ve been the Owner and Director of the Minnesota Twisters Girls Fastpitch Organization, and I’ve coached on and off for eight years. Helping young athletes grow in confidence, leadership, and skill is one of the most rewarding things I do.
A notary’s whole job is trust. Here’s what that looks like in practice on every appointment.
A missed initial or an overlooked notarization can derail a closing. I check, double-check, and confirm before I leave the table.
Loan documents, estate papers, personal IDs — handled discreetly and never shared. Confidentiality isn’t a feature here, it’s the job.
Closings and signings run on schedules — and so do I. When I commit to a time and a place, I’m there.
I come to your home, office, hospital room, or care facility. You never rearrange your day around a notary’s address or hours.
Standard hours are 8 AM–6 PM, but I’m reachable day or night. An urgent signing doesn’t have to wait until Monday.
Rural towns, lake country, and the spread-out communities of central and western Minnesota — exactly where a dependable notary is hardest to find.
Through a trusted estate-planning firm partnership, I can point your family toward the right people to protect what matters most.
From kitchen-table signings to bedside signatures — if it needs a notary, it’s covered. I regularly work with:
